PILES
Hemorrhoids, also called hemorrhoids, are swellings of the veins in the anus and lower rectum that resemble varicose veins. Hemorrhoids can occur in the rectum (internal hemorrhoids) or under the skin around the anus (external hemorrhoids).
Three out of four of her adults may experience hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids have many causes, but the cause is often unknown.
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms of hemorrhoids usually depend on the type of hemorrhoid.
External hemorrhoids
These are under the skin around your anus. Signs and symptoms might include:
Itching or irritation in your anal region
Pain or discomfort
Swelling around your anus
Bleeding
Internal hemorrhoids
Internal hemorrhoids lie inside the rectum. You usually can't see or feel them, and they rarely cause discomfort. But straining or irritation when passing stool can cause:
Painless bleeding during bowel movements. You might notice small amounts of bright red blood on your toilet tissue or in the toilet.
A hemorrhoid to push through the anal opening (prolapsed or protruding hemorrhoid), resulting in pain and irritation.
Thrombosed hemorrhoids
If blood pools in an external hemorrhoid and forms a clot (thrombus), it can result in:
Severe pain
Swelling
Inflammation
A hard lump near your anus
When to see a doctor
If you have bleeding during bowel movements or if you have hemorrhoids that do not improve after a week of home care, see your doctor. Don't assume that rectal bleeding is caused by hemorrhoids, especially if your bowel habits have changed, or if your stool changes color or consistency. Rectal bleeding can also occur with other disorders, such as colon and anal cancer.
Seek emergency medical attention if you have heavy rectal bleeding, lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting.
Fortunately, there are effective options for treating hemorrhoids. For many people, symptoms can be relieved with home remedies and lifestyle changes. Laser proctology uses lasers to treat conditions of the colon, anus, and rectum. Hemorrhoids, fistulas, fissures, polyps, and pilonidal sinuses are some of the ailments effectively treated with laser technology. Laser treatment of hemorrhoids and fissures is increasingly used to successfully treat them in both men and women.
What is Hemorrhoid Laser Surgery (HeLP)?
It is a minimally invasive hemorrhoid laser surgery that does not require anesthesia. This procedure uses Doppler to identify the terminal branches of the rectal artery, followed by photocoagulation of these branches using a laser diode fiber (1470 nm).
